Sotos lawyers awarded top accolades
It’s been a good year at Sotos LLP, and we have a lot to show for it: Sotos’ lawyers have been given an impressive number of awards and rankings in the past few months.
We are proud to announce that Arthur Trebilcock has been named the Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers for Toronto in 2013. Only a single lawyer in each practice area and major metropolitan area is honored as the Lawyer of the Year, making this accolade particularly significant.
Best Lawyers also named Sotos the Top-Listed law firm in Canada in the field of franchise law for having more listed lawyers than any other firm. Allan Dick, John Sotos, David Sterns, Arthur Trebilcock and Peter Viitre were all nominated and selected by their peers for being among the best in the business.
Franchise Times magazine chose John Sotos as one of its prestigious “Legal Eagles” for 2012. To make the list, lawyers are nominated by their peers and clients, plus meet the criteria of the Franchise Times editorial panel. John is one of only a small handful of Canadian lawyers that were chosen for the list.
Sotos is well-represented in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for 2012, with Allan Dick, John Sotos, David Sterns and Arthur Trebilcock all selected for inclusion. Listed lawyers are chosen directly by their peers as leading practitioners. Published annually since 1997, the directory is one of the most comprehensive guides to legal talent in Canada.
The accolades don’t stop there. Allan Dick, John Sotos and Arthur Trebilcock were also selected for inclusion in the International Who’s Who of Franchise Lawyers 2012 and International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers 2013. Determined through a mix of client and peer reviews, these periodicals areamong the most distinguished legal directories worldwide. In addition, Allan, John, Arthur and Peter Viitre were all named to the Who’s Who Legal: Canada 2012 list of Canada’s leading business lawyers.
