Sam Fata
Associate
Sam is an associate in the corporate and commercial group. His practice consists of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities and commercial law. Sam approaches his work with a strong sense of commitment to clients, striving to understand their unique needs and goals in order to provide personalized and effective representation. He has gained extensive experience in advising clients across many industries, such as technology, manufacturing, mining, agribusiness, entertainment, artificial intelligence and consumer goods.
Sam earned his Juris Doctor from the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University, where he was awarded the David Mullan Scholarship and the Queen’s Law Course Prize in Contracts Law. While in law school, he was a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate courses in business law and employment law. In addition, Sam served as a caseworker for the Queen’s Business Law Clinic where he assisted clients on a variety of matters such as employment contracts, shareholder agreements and corporate governance. Prior to law school, Sam obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (with High Distinction) from the Rotman Commerce Program at the University of Toronto.
Prior to joining Sotos LLP, Sam was an associate at another prominent Canadian law firm.
